Summertime is in full force – even if it’s not official until June 21. So why not burn a bunch of calories while it’s burning up outside?
Our friend, Darcia, is a dynamite trainer and fitness guru at the Central Arlington YMCA. This summer, she’s pleased to host a couple of free classes to help you sweat it up.
Cardio Stretchology
- Dates: Every Wednesday through June and July (except for July 4)
- Time: 7:15PM to 8:15PM
- Location: Katherine Rose Memorial Park (see on map)
Don’t let the “cardio” word turn you off. This 50-minute workout blends 20-25 minutes of power walking with a 25-minute stretch session. Rev up your heart rate – and then get loosened up to take on the rest of your week. For this class, you’ll need to bring your own yoga mat.
Friday Morning Bootcamp
- Dates: Every Friday through June and July
- Time: 8:45AM to 9:30AM
- Location: Clayton W Chandler Park (see on map)
We’re not going to say this is your free pass to splurge on your diet every weekend… But c’mon, it’s Bootcamp for pete’s sake – and that has to be worth something, right? Bootcamp promises to be an active 45-minute workout – so come ready to sweat and have fun. Participants are asked to bring their own weights (we’ll use weights from 5-12 pounds.) You’ll also need to bring your own yoga mat, as well.
